Why do we go to the Cheesecake Factory?

B.L.T. SALAD

What the menu promised: “Crisp Iceberg Lettuce Covered with Fresh Tomato, Bacon, Chopped Egg and Blue Cheese. Served with Our Bacon Dressing”

What I got: a head of iceberg lettuce cleaved into two hemispheres; plated face up and topped with pulverized egg yolks, a skimpy scattering of limp, chopped tomatoes; three bacon bits; no blue cheese and a side of gooey, non-descript, ranch-like dressing.

I made them give me more bacon; yes, I did. But it still did not look as good as this stock photo.

"No cheese" in quiche, says Julia Child

"The classic quiche Lorraine contains heavy cream, eggs and bacon, no cheese."
- Julia Child, Mastering the Art of French Cooking (New York: Knopf) 1967 p 147.

Guess we won't be inviting her to brunch at David and Linda's house, huh?

April Fools? "Eggs"actly!

It's amazing what you can do with white chocolate and yellow frosting. Thanks, Carol!
